The kids are starting to comment on how easy it is to impress Mom.
It started with the Erie Canal. When we spotted it for the first time, I couldn't believe it... the real Erie Canal.
Then it was Niagra Falls. Then crossing the Mississippi. Then it was how beautiful the prairie is.... they are starting to think I am a pushover.
Really, it is amazing.
We just made it to Omaha and are learning a lesson about humidity. Yikes, it really isn't the heat, it's the humidity.
Tomorrow we take a day off traveling and visit the Omaha Zoo. Then it's off to Minden to see if my dad really did have to walk uphill BOTH ways to school.

You'll no doubt notice that most all the women in Nebraska have short hairdos (it's a humidity thing). At the Henry Doorly Zoo, make sure you see the hammerhead shark (she of the virgin birth) and make sure the big silverback gorilla doesn't toss any poo at you (personal experience). Take lots of pictures in Minden, too.
I second the ``lots of pictures'' comment re Minden, though there won't be much worth seeing. (Except the path from my old home to the school, which is uphill both ways.)

I loved Nebraska when I drove through it on my cross country trip out to CA. Now is your chance to visit the Sod House! It's right off of I-80.
